“Be the change you wish to see in the world”- Ghandi

Red Cross “everyday heroes” come from all walks of life. Young, old, and in-between, everyone has something special to offer…including you. Neighbor helping neighbor is the core of what the Red Cross is about.

Each year, more than one million Americans work with the Red Cross as volunteers serving local community needs. Every day, Red Cross volunteers -- your neighbors -- provide a broad array of vital services to people in need in the Mohawk Valley. Red Cross volunteers perform such critical services as helping victims of fires, floods, storms, and other disasters; staffing blood drives; providing lifesaving training in CPR and water safety. Others help the organization with office work, event planning, and much, much more. Volunteers are a part of everything we do, and there’s a volunteer opportunity for everyone.
Volunteer Opportunties

Our volunteers tell us that volunteering makes them feel good about doing something that makes a difference. The American Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley can work with you to provide rewarding experiences and opportunities to utilize your talents, as well as training to help you serve your community.

Lives in Herkimer

Loves the Red Cross
and has this to say:

“The Red Cross has been near and dear to my heart. I see personally what the Red Cross does in our community as a volunteer fundraiser and citizen in Herkimer County.  I think the Red Cross is a great organization not just in times of need, but before the need will exist. Red Cross is all about preparedness. Knowing that the people in this community will have their immediate needs met during times of disaster or that lifesaving training, like CPR, AED and First Aid, are being taught regularly. I also like to help advocate the need for blood and know that blood helps save lives.”
